Due to investor confidence, billions of Rand has been invested in the Eastern Cape since 2008 on commercial and retail developments, as well as residential establishments and even golfing estates. This extensive development has also led to upgrades and expansion of roads all across the Eastern Cape and attracted both national and international interest. The province has also enjoyed an influx of tourists and entrepreneurs in recent months.

Running a successful business in any industry takes more than just simply selling a product or service. More often than not, it requires new dimensions in terms of partnerships. For this reason, Oasys Innovations has embarked on a new, joint venture with Frontier Events in Port Elizabeth.

“Proximity to customers allows for maximising service and delivery. We have not had a proper representation in the Eastern Cape and our association with Doug Pudney, Chief Executive of Frontier Events will hold joint benefits for both companies in that province,” says Brian Kennedy, Chief Executive of Oasys Innovations. He adds, “Furthermore, we are also excited about this joint venture and how it can contribute to the economic and developmental wellbeing of the Eastern Cape, especially since the province is attracting the attention of more and more visitors for leisure and business, who can be seen as potential audiences to events hosted there throughout the year.”

Like Oasys, Frontier Events supplies event infrastructure to any event imaginable. Pudney, one of the founders of Frontier Events says, “Oasys will supply Frontier Events with stock and international know-how to enable our company to represent the new joint initiative on a professional basis.”

Both companies are positive about the venture and believe it will open up many new business avenues in the events environment. “The combined experience of Oasys Innovations and Frontier Events, as well as the staff compliment at both companies will allow us to grow our regional business,” concludes Kennedy.

Amazing Team building Race with Frontier Events

Introduction: Whether the event is conference or customer entertainment package, fundraiser or a team build our approach will ensure that your outcomes are tangible and you perceive value. After discussing your brief with you and depending on the city, or venue we will design an amazing race. We can be more sight seeing orientated, more adventurous or very cryptic.

Delegates are split into teams that suit the transport mode, and will be supplied with their own team bandanas and receive a booklet of clues, escape routes and challenges. Some of the stops will have challenges that the team have to complete, all against a clock and points to be scored. We have a myriad of challenges ranging from tame to torrid, thought invoking, photographing the stature outside the library, to abseiling, kayaking and fire fighting.Â

We often use interactive communication such as internet (we set up customised gmail accounts), MMS and SMS. It all depends on the venue. Frontier Events will have various facilitators at some stations facilitating the challenges and equipment for the challenge.

We are proud of our adventure/ amazing team building races and they are recognised in the Eastern Cape by corporates as the leading product available. We have a huge array of challenges in areas ranging from the Wild Coast, Addo, to the Garden Route where we have successfully hosted these events.

Mechanical bulls are hydraulic mechanical bull ride simulators that are perfect for the youngest rider to an experienced cowboy. We can slow the machine down so that youngsters can get on for a ride and with a turn of the control knob, bring the speed up to challenge even the most seasoned rider.

Once you see our mechanical bull in action you can tell that it is basically a mechanical puppet that young and old crowds adore. With expert control over the bull, our operators ensure the highest level of safety. There is an air bag that comes right up to a padded platform to ensure a soft landing when you are bucked.

All the fun and challenge of the popular table game foosball has now been made into life size, inflatable, fun activity. Lots of fun to play and watch, this game is great exercise, requires minimal skill to have fun and is great for corporate events and team-building exercises.

Up to twenty-two participants (eleven per side) enter the arena. Each participant puts on a waist harness and is connected to a rope to allow left to right movement only which replicates the foosball table game controls. The game is played in an identical fashion to its diminutive cousin, with team work being paramount in order to score a goal against the opposition. This is a great game for those participating as well as spectators.

Quick and easy set-up and breakdown accommodate indoor or outdoor programs and tight schedules. The program may be 2 hour game or a day-long company tournament. Human Foosball can easily combine with many other of our activities to make a fun filled day.

HISTORY

Past success is a strong indicator of future success: one needs to look at an event company’s experience. How long have they been in existence, what kind of events and projects have they co-ordinated? It is advisable to refer to any recommendations or testimonials from past clients and companies that have utilised the event organiser’s services.

TOILET HIRE FOR LARGE AND SMALL EVENTS IN SOUTH AFRICA:

The lack of proper toilet facilities and sanitation can impact negatively on you whole event and largely negate any success the event may have attained.

The importance of providing proper amenities can never be under-estimated: whether you are hosting a large corporate function, or a intimate family affair – hiring the portable toilets may be the most important indicator in determining the success or failure of your function.

WHAT IS AVAILABLE?

Nowadays, event planners do not have to compromise when renting portable toilets, thanks to product advances. There are units to suit your every need, including wheelchair accessible units, luxury units and mobile event rest rooms.

Trailer mounted toilets have proved to be very popular for most larger functions, boasting a well-equipped unit with running water and hand basins. Factors to consider when hiring portable toilets include the following:

Number of guests, including caterers and staff.

Does the venue have power and water supply?

Are disabled units required?

Does toilet hire include janitor services?

Are luxurious units required?

A reputable toilet hire company will be able to provide professional advice that will enhance the overall outcome of your event.

Another option suitable for smaller events is the tardis portable toilet, also known in the industry as the “budget box”, which is used extensively at fetes and festivals, or any smaller, local or budget event.

HOW MANY TOILETS WILL I NEED?

A general rule of thumb is to allow one portable toilet per hundred guests at an event, although one per every fifty guests is probably a more comfortable guideline.

YOUR TOILET CHECK LIST:

Determine how many guests will be attending the event, to determine how many toilets you will need.

Remember to include the caterers and event staff – alternatively hire additional toilets for the on site staff. This may prove essential at larger functions.

Ensure that there is level ground at the function location – for obvious reasons!

Check whether there is a power supply at the venue. Power is not essential for hire of the tardis units, but one may wish to provide extra lighting at night.

Check whether the venue has a fresh water supply. It is helpful to be able to top up the units, if necessary.

Decide whether disabled units are necessary.

Decide whether a janitor service is required.

What is the importance of team building?

The duck never asks itself whether it’s a duck or not.

It’s duckness is ingrained in it’s DNA. It flies south in the Fall and north in the Spring, never questioning “Why?”

It is a duck after all.

Ducks, like geese, fly in formation, each duck taking it’s turn leading the flock in flight. When the lead duck gets tired, it fades from the front and is enveloped back into the fold of the flock, naturally another bird takes the lead.

They are ducks after all. This is what they do.

The way Stephen Covey sums up leadership in the modern business world can be directly applied to team building and ducks:

Synergy comes naturally from the quality of the relationship, the friendship, trust, and love that unites people.

~ Stephen Covey

I have know clue if ducks love one another, what I do know is ducks never question the importance of team building, training, whether their flock represents them well enough, or if another flock might be a better fit for them.

If their flock isn’t getting the job done, the duck struggles. In formation, ducks fly 71% farther than any single duck that flies on it’s own.

The team is family – family is life

Ducks instinctively know without teamwork, not only will they not arrive at their happy destination, their goose is cooked.

Ducks are united by DNA and the common instinct to reach their breeding and feeding destinations faster, safer, and easier. Their lives are fully engaged in the venture – committed – synergized.

If your team is striving for synergy – you must connect emotionally

Like ducks, people naturally gravitate toward organizations that will shelter and protect them and make their life easier than if they were left to fend for themselves.

As humans we want more than a chilly nest and a little grain to peck at. Most of us want money, freedom, and the respect of our peers.

So why is there so much failure when it comes to effective team building?

The simple fact is, when people’s emotional, physical, spiritual, and financial needs are not being met, their performance and attitude suffers.

So how do we meet the individual’s needs and yet still maintain focus on our organizational goals in a way that is mutually beneficial to both the individual and the business?

Ideas Are Team Glue They Either Stick or They Don’t

Build teamwork into the DNA of your organization. Change the way your organization connects emotionally to your people by changing the way you communicate your ideas. Connect emotionally by meeting the psychological needs of your teams.

If an individual’s thoughts and actions aren’t in alignment with those of the organization, both are degraded. The importance of team building is creating synergistic teams of individuals who are in alignment with the organizational ideas and structure of which they are a part.

In a rapidly changing world filled with complex environmental issues, a border-less global economy, and ever increasing competition, the importance of team building takes on a dangerously sharp edge.

It’s simple, if you don’t realize the importance of team building and don’t build teams that get the job done, your organizational goose is cooked.
